Using applesauce in cake recipes cuts calories, but by how much?

There are 1972 fat calories in 1 cup of vegetable oil. There are 194 calories in 1 cup of sweetened applesauce and 105 calories in 1 cup of unsweetened applesauce.

Boxed cake mixes usually call for 1/3 cup of oil or roughly 628 calories. Substitute 1/3 cup of unsweetened applesauce for the oil for only 35 calories!Using applesauce in cake recipes cuts calories, but by how much?
A lot apparently. A cup of canola oil has 1927 calories, while a cup of applesauce has 105 calories. Wow. And while you probably won't replace all of the oil with the applesauce, there is still a significant savings, right?Using applesauce in cake recipes cuts calories, but by how much?
The whole applesauce thing is kind of a bunch of BS if you ask me. If your going to make cake, make cake. I tried the applesauce thing a couple of times and got DRY crap that wasn't worth the time and ingredients wasted.
Since you use it to replace ... butter, eggs, milk??? You are mainly cutting the Fat content way down to practically nothing. Follow the recipe with the applesauce. Should taste fine with much less fat.
