Cake and bread recipes?

I want recipes for plain cakes and bread.Please help.Cake and bread recipes?
Victoria Sponge Cake





6 oz sugar


6 oz butter/margarine


8 oz SR flour


1tsp baking powder


2 eggs


Milk





1. Pre-heat the oven to 160c and grease and line two sponge tins.





2. Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy





3. Beat in the eggs and a good splash of milk and then add the flour a little at a time, beating well until the batter is creamy coloured and has bubbles in it.





4. Divide the batter evenly between the two sponge tins as quickly as possible, spreading it out evenly.





5. Bake in the centre of the oven for about 20 minutes until golden. Test to see if its down by sticking a knife in the middle, if the knife comes out clean, the cake is cooked.





Fill with whatever filling you like (I like vanilla buttercream) and serve.





You can change the flavour by adding hot chocolate or cocoa for a chocolate cake or add some very strong instant coffe for a coffe cake.Cake and bread recipes?

WOOOO! Strawberry cheesecake trifle





Ingredients:


-2 pints fresh strawberries, sliced


-1 cup sugar, divided


-2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened


-3 tablespoons orange juice


-3 cups whipping cream, whipped


-1 (10.75 ounce) loaf frozen pound cake, thawed and cut into 1/2 inch cubes


-3 (1 ounce) squares semisweet chocolate, grated


-Chocolate curls (optional)


-Additional strawberries (optional)





Cooking directions:


In a bowl, toss strawberries with 1/2 cup sugar; set aside.


In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, orange juice and remaining sugar until smooth. Fold in the whipped cream; set aside.


Drain strawberries, reserving juice; set the berries aside. Gently toss cake cubes with reserved juice. Place half of the cake in a 4-qt. trifle dish or serving bowl. Top with a third of the cream cheese mixture, half of the strawberries and half of the grated chocolate. Repeat layers. Top with remaining cream cheese mixture. Garnish with chocolate curls and strawberries if desired. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.

Pumpernickel Sausage Stuffing


Ingredients:


-4 tablespoons unsalted butter


-1 pound sweet Italian sausage (casings removed), meat chopped


-2 large celery ribs with leaves, chopped


-1 large onion, chopped


-1 (1 pound) loaf pumpernickel raisin bread, cut into 1-inch cubes and dried (leave out overnight or lightly toast in a 200 degrees F oven)


-1 (4 ounce) packet saltine crackers, crumbled


-1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped


-4 eggs, lightly beaten


-2 cups turkey stock or canned low-sodium chicken broth


-1/4 cup chopped flat leaf parsley





Cooking directions:


1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat, then add the sausage and cook for 5 minutes, crumbling the meat with the back of a spoon. Add the celery and onion and cook until the vegetables are tender and the meat is browned, 7 to 10 minutes. Transfer the mixture to a large bowl and let cool.





2. Add the bread cubes, crackers, thyme, eggs, stock and parsley to the bowl and mix well (use your hands if you like--it's fun). The mixture should be moist but not soggy; add a little more stock if you like your stuffing wetter. Season the stuffing with salt and pepper. Place in a 9-by-13-inch buttered baking dish and bake for 1 hour. (To keep the stuffing moist, cover the top loosely with foil while it bakes:)
