Any good recipes to use with boxed spice cake?

I purchased a box of Betty Crocker spice cake by accident. Anyone know of anything creative to do with it beside just make a spice cake? Any good recipes or add ins to ';spice'; up the cake a bit?Any good recipes to use with boxed spice cake?
Country Oat Cake





1 package Spice cake mix (18.5 oz. size)


1 cup Quaker Oats, uncooked (quick or old-fashioned)


8 ounces Plain low-fat yogurt


3 Eggs or 3/4 cup Egg substitute


1/4 cup Vegetable oil


1/4 cup Water


1 1/2 cup Finely chopped apple





***TOPPING***


1 cup Quaker Oats, uncooked (quick or old-fashioned)


1/2 cup Brown sugar, firmly packed


1/4 cup Margarine or butter; melted


1/2 teaspoon Ground cinnamon


Whipped cream (optional)





Heat oven to 350 F. Grease and flour 13 x 9-inch baking pan. For cake, combine first six ingredients. Blend on low speed of electric mixer until moistened; mix at medium speed 2 minutes. Stir in apple. Pour into prepared pan.





For topping, combine oats, brown sugar, margarine and cinnamon; mix well. Sprinkle evenly over batter.





Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Serve with whipped cream, if desired.

Applesauce Spice Cake





Cake


1 box (18.25 oz. size) spice cake mix


3 eggs


1 1/4 cup applesauce


1 cup chopped nuts


1/3 cup vegetable oil





Frosting


1 container (16 oz. size) vanilla frosting


1/2 teaspoon cinnamon





Directions:


Preheat oven to 350F. Grease and flour a 13 x 9-inch pan.





For cake, combine cake mix, eggs, applesauce and oil in large bowl. Beat at medium speed with electric mixer for 2 minutes. Stir in nuts. Pour into pan.





Bake for 40 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan for 15 minutes. Invert onto cooling rack. Turn right-side up. Cool completely.





Combine frosting and cinnamon. Stir until blended. Spread over cooled cake. Dust frosting with a light coat of cinnamon.






Just make the cake then make one from scratch

* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


* 2 1/2 cups white sugar


* 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

* 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg


* 1 teaspoon ground allspice


* 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon


* 1 teaspoon ground cloves


* 1/4 teaspoon salt


* 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

DIRECTIONS





1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease one 10 inch bundt or tube pan.


2. Cream oil, beaten eggs, pumpkin and vanilla together.


3. Sift the flour, sugar, baking soda, ground nutmeg, ground allspice, ground cinnamon, ground cloves and salt together. Add the flour mixture to the pumpkin mixture and mix until just combined. If desired, stir in some chopped nuts. Pour batter into the prepared pan.


4. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. Let cake cool in pan for 5 minutes then turn out onto a plate and sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.

If you like pumpkin, you can use one box of spice cake mix and one can of pumpkin pie stuff to make muffins. I have a friend who loves them. (I'm not a big fan of pumpkin).


You could also make muffins or cake and add some type of nuts or maybe dried fruit to them.
Keep it simple! Pour half the batter in the pan add sliced apples or peaches and pour on the rest. Easy!





You could use just about any fruit,
make it into a crumble to add on top of sliced fruit!
